Christmas Eve drizzly afternoon on Fifth Avenue, but inside Church warm glow of Christian spirit Heavenly high point of year, where the rich revisit God and Nature Angels, three lambs, a donkey and Sue's amazing "Look at me" llama Pierre congregate, with a chance to cuddle a lamb Slim Sue Gural brought in her four lambs, her donkey and her highly strung llama Pierre to take a leading role in the Heavenly Rest Christmas Pageant once again, and she took some good shots herself with her phone, including a fine one of a live lamb meeting a toy lamb nose to nose, see below. Pierre was on the alert for any dangerous intruders to his herd of sheep as always, jumpy, whirling around and ever watchful from behind his huge movie star lashes as he scanned the crowd of parents with babes in arms or toddlers in hand who came to touch the warm white or black wool of the lambs or his own sturdier carpet of snowy wool. In the vestibule the patient donkey waited his turn after the Three Magi to carry Mary up the aisle led by Joseph and as many as a hundred little tykes and their bigger siblings in angel costumes as they scampered up the aisle behind them and assembled en masse below the altar to sing Silent Night in one of the high points of Manhattan's musical year. For a brief hour and a half the local wealthy WASP families left their hiding places in brownstones and grand Park Avenue buildings nearby and brought their golden haired and modestly polite and wholesome daughters and sons for once together in public so that neighbors could get a glimpse of neighbors they rarely see on the streets except when voting at the same church. Long live the Christmas spirit amid the cut throat service industries of Wall Street and law!
