Mar 16 Wed New School Panel on Long Media Pieces

In brief, this panel's output consisted mostly of stabs in the dark, along with free association, from most of the panel. The one cogent panelist was none other than David Remnick, who made the memorable statement that long pieces treat the material you gather after"the caravan has moved on", which is the really interesting stuff. As can be seen from the photos, Remnick, while remaining impeccably polite, seemed a little irritated to be among lesser mortals, and we sympathized. However, we realize we have the obligation to go back to our notes at some point and revisit the rest of what was said, which was probably better than we remember.
