Feb 8 Dutch Treat Club Steve Ross plays and sings Veronica Kavass presents her book of photos of WWII veterans

Master of the keys Steve Ross ,dubbed New York's Crown Prince of Cabaret, joins us as he continues his rave-review engagement, Rhythm and Romance", at the Algonquin Hotel's Oak Room. Steve has headlined at the Ritz in London and Paris, the Imperial in Tokyo, and festivals in Hong Kong, Perth and Spoleto. He recently enjoyed a month's sojourn in Australia, where he performed at the first Melbourne Cabaret Festival. Says the New York Times of his current show: "Mr Ross may be the ultimate nightclub embodiment of a return to civility." The Artists that Emerged from the Last Good War: Veronica Kavass is a "narratologist" with an intense interest in art. She will describe the creative veterans included in her book, "The Last Good War: The Faces and Voices of World War II". The presentation will explore the ways in war exposure affects artists. As an example, after Bob Costa projected films onto a sheet held up by gun turrets on a Navy ship, he went on to become the optical engineer for action films like "Robocop" and "Terminator 2".
